Can someone assist me?

Whenever i set up my VPN server on RRAS with Windows 2000 Advanced server (directly connected to the internet) It cuts off my Internet connection. Can someone tell me why it does this, and also explain how to configure it properly. A direct answer or reference to material explaining this issue would be deeply appreciated…
