VPN through FVS318 router

I can not get VPN to work throgh my Netgear FVS318 rotuer/firewall. It works on the local network, but not through firewall. I have opened port 1723, but still no connection. It gives error “781,encryption failed because no valid certificate was found”.
Any suggestions?
