VPN Trouble

by elovejoy . Updated 23 years, 6 months ago

I have a dial up telstra connection running on a windows 2000 machine. I have set up IPSec on the machine and am pointing towards a static ip on my network at work.

The static ip address is from telstra direct and that goes through a dumb actel modem directly into a netgear router with VPN capabilities. I have set up a VPN connection on the router and pointed it towards the dial up connection.

I have made the endpoint on the dial connection the IP address of the dial up connection (forever changing which is a bitch) and the other end point is my static IP of the router.

I ping the static ip address from the windows 2000 client and recieve a response, but when i try and ping an internal address i recieve the following message:
negotiating ipsec
negotiating ipsec
” ”
” ”
4 packets sent, 0 recieved, 100% loss
Can someone please help?
