VX2.DLL file wreaking havoc on IE6

By hmu02532 ·
Can anyone help -
A file named VX2.DLL is causing an error everytime I go to open internet explorer, my documents, file search and even control panel.
Is there any way to rectify this - I have located the file on the hard drive but it will not delete.

VX2.DLL - Spyware

that nasty vx2.dll is a piece of spyware - you can view all the information by going to

but in order to make things a bit easier here is a breakdown of whet you need to do (note: I take no credit for this its all thanks to those lovely people at

boot into safe mode (while booting keep tapping F5) - this should allow you to use the find function.

goto start>find>files or folders and search on your hard drive for VX2.dll

make a note of its path e.g. c:\windows\VX2.dll

now start>run and enter the following

regsvr32 /u "C:\Windows\VX2.dll" (note:replace the part in " " with the patch that you got earlier). (oh and keep the ""'s in it)

the program should inform you that uninstall was sucessful

reboot your system back into safe mode goto where VX2.dll lives and delete the little git

your system should now be okay.

Now go onto the internet and if you haven't already get the following programs

AVG AntiVirus - - get the free version

Spybot - from - spyware remover

adaware - from - spyware remover

I hope this helps you.
