I have a Windows 2000 server. Previously, under a local log on, I was able to run the Windows Backup utility to a 4mm DDS internal tape drive. It worked perfectly.
I joined this computer to the domain. Logged in with a network account (not my own but a special account that is shared by two of us) that is in the local administrators group and local backup operators group. This account is also in the domain administrators group. When I try to run a tape backup, everything works fine up until I click “Start Backup”.
I get an error message: “Backup Error: Removable Storage did not mount the requested media. The operation was aborted.”
I have switched out a variety of tapes, including tapes I have successfully used before, tapes I have erased, and brand new tapes.
I can log on locally as Administrator and complete a successful backup. I can log on with my domain account and complete a successful backup.
Any ideas on what I might be overlooking here?
