W2K box crashing

By kmuller ·
I have a quirky Windows 2000 box. When I have a few windows open, and then try to open an Access 2000 windown, the box crashed...hard. It is like pulling the power plug... I have reloaded w2k once, and it is still happening. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

is it a new win2k installation? that is, was it running a different OS before?

reason being that some machines (dell, ibm, in my personal experience, among others) need BIOS updates to work properly with win2k.

also are you doing anything funky with regards to virtual memory? (disabling it, managing it yourself, etc.)

Have you checked the peripherals to be sure they are on the Windows 2000 HCL?

Is this an Intel box or an AMD box?

I guess in general "More system information would be valuable in assessing the problem" (hardware & software)
