W2K Partition Size Recommendation

I have noticed performance increases in machines that have a 3Gb or higher partition size over 2Gb or smaller. I do know that a typical install of 2000 Pro requires 500 mb of disk space and 2000 server minimum install requires about 700 mb. This is why I always use 4Gb primary partitions, unless you have control over where people place files. You can then restrict write access to the primary partition and lower the primary partition size but don't go below 2Gb.
