W2K Pro & Server – network adapters

HI! I have a question:
After a system recovery (W2K Pro or W2K server), when I am trying to re-configure my TCP/IP protocol, I get an answer saying that there is already a Network Connection with the same TCP/IP setings, but because the network adapter was removed, this one is hidden, and that I should change the settings I’ve just entered. How can I solve this problem? Has enyone had such problem?
