W2K Errors w/ NTFS File Partition
OK, I had Windows 2ooo installed on an average PII 450 desktop unit. Converted the Hard Drive to the NTFS Filing System. Had it all setup, even had office, norton, etc. installed w/o any issues. Right about the time I think its all done, I let it run for a few hours to burn it in then I shut it down.
30 mins later i boot it up and I get the W2k partial screen that runs the scandisk, but it had a message saying that the system files were lost?????Tried startup disks, no luck.
Tried to use HD software to erase disc but doesnt work with NTFS on W2K.
If anyone knows any tricks for the NTFS filing system for windows 2000, please let me know.thanks

I tried FDISK w/o success. I get a message that FDISK is unable to properly delete filing system. I tried the hard drive manuf bios software w/o success. now the hard drive comes up with a windows security error VOLB something and freezes in dos.
any help would be great.
thanks
OK, after fdisk I format the drive and run the start up disc to intall the OS. Before the installation starts I rec this error……
standard mode: Fault outside of MS-DOS Extender.
EC=0000 CS=03C7 IP=74D0 AX=0000 BX=03C7 CX=FFB1 DX=03C7
SI=2ABA DI=721D BP=0FB0 DS=03CF ES=03BF SS=027F SP=0F94

then it goes back to the dos prompt.
how can i combat this???/
