W2K SBS hanging

We run a Dell PowerEdge server with a Benchmark DLT1 backup drive and use the W2K built-in backup utility to back it up. On practically every backup the server hangs and has to be switched off and back on. Doing this has corrupted the Exchange database and many .dll’s.

Any ideas?
