W2K Server Group Policies!!

By Peter Bate ·
Hi there,

I am wanting to set up a policy to only allow certain machines access to the internet regardless of who logs in to them.

I have managed to make this work with particular users and groups, but not on a particular computer or a group with computers as members. I have added the computer name to the permissions of the GPO and set it to "apply group policies" but it does not take effect. I have tried selecting "no overide" and "block policy inheritance" and tried shuffling the policies around but it won't work on computer names or security groups of computers.

If you have an idea on what is going on please drop a suggestion.

Thanks heaps,
Peter

To create domain accounts open the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in by clicking Start-Programs-Administrative Tools-Active Directory Users and Computers.
Windows 2000 prevents you from running the Local Users And Groups snap-in on a domain controller.
Hope this helps

Hi there,

Thanks for the input but it didn't help. I managed to fix the problem after 2 days of pulling my hair out!

Thanks again.

Peter
