W2K Server simulating a BDC in Winnt 4

It is possible to have mixed environment with a W2k setup to fully simulate/perform the tasks of a BDC and a Winnt 4.0 network? The goal is to keep the Winnt 4.0 PDC completely functional as is and ad a W2k machine to perform as a ?BDC?. I?m interested in this configuration as a student research project, any suggestions accepted.
