We have a perplexing issue that is more of an annoyance than anything. We have installed windows 2000 server, sp2 and are using it as a terminal server with citrix metaframe tools. We have some programs installed on it such as office 2000. The problem is that when you logon (administrator locally or admin or normal user remotely) an error message appears: “symantec fax starter edition porrt starter, error returned code from create name pipe =231” Then you hit ok and “the fax receiver failed to start” message appears. Try to get out of that, and the original message comes back. It cycles between the two indefinitely. I can run programs around this, but it is pretty inconvenient. Any ideas on how to get rid of this? I know outlook 2000 has some type of fax service it tries to install, so maybe that is part of it? This is the only system that it happens to when you logon.
