W98: Slow file showing in “My Documents”

My PC’s specs: HP Pavilion 4530 with Windows 98, 333mHz AMD K6 3-D processor, 188 mb RAM, 4 GB hard drive. (I know it’s a dinosaur) It has about 400
mb free space.

I have been saving files in “My Documents” directory. It uses 15 mb.

The problem:
It takes forever to show files in “My Documents”. I have tried to save in a different directory in the C directory (named “From My Documents”) before. And that worked normal.

Could someone help me to make the files to show faster?
