Wage Negotiation (Thumbs for all)

By Wizard-09 ·
Ok, lets say you get a new job, it's a great job to be offered at this time the way things are. Lets say that the wage is not what you are worth, how or would you try to negotiated the wage with the employer?

PS I have been offered the job, subject to checks which I will pass?

Thanks for the help :)

Do you think that it's ok to ask for better salary if it's not as much as your last job. I would be very happy with that, then work my way up from it. I haven't been told my wage yet so I might not have to negotiated.

shot lately for negotiating a higher salary. Seems a bit odd to apply for a position without knowing what your rate of pay is though. You might be surprised and gladly accept their offer. On the other hand they may be offering a pittance and you will definately need to negotiate.
Don't get yourself worked up without haveing all of the details. It'll all come out in the wash and Good Luck.

What are the odds

you will enjoy the job? That's worth an awful lot.

I'm not paid what I think I'm worth. But I like what I do. I've been paid better and hated my job. I don't know about others, but I won't go into work day after day to a job I hate. That's a thing that can kill a person, I'd say.
How many people suffering from debilitating headaches, high blood pressure, ulcers could be free of those things by settling for less at something that they enjoy?

Doesn't exactly answer your question, but it's well worth thinking about. This life is too short to measure things solely by cash value.
