Hello, I have a dual honed windows server 2003 Standard SP2. The server is
joined to a Domain, there is a DNS server in the domain, and DHCP is
configured on the server with an active scope. I have installed WDS, but
when I try to start the WDS server I get the following error: “The service
did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion”. I then
checked to see if Trivial FTP Daemon was running… and of course it isn’t.
So I tried starting the service manually, and I get the following error:
“Could not start the Trivial FTP Daemon service on Local Computer. Error
11004: The requested name is invalid, but no data of the requested type was
found”. I have uninstalled/re-installed WDS/BDD/AIK, and still I get the
same error. I have another server that has the same setup and WDS works
perfect. I have googled/newsgrooped this problem, and I have had no luck
finding any information on how to fix this problem. Does anyone have any
ideas?
