We apologize for the frustration with Forums

Hello to all of you die-hard TechRepublic members. We just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know that we are working our butts off around the clock to try to fix the stability problems that have been happening with TechRepublic Forums.

In our testing environment before we went live, the system looked solid for a month, but since we flipped the switch last week the Forums have obviously been non-functional. A lot of it has to do with the caching layer, which a site like ours that has millions of users per month has to have. However, it's complicated stuff and difficult to replicate in a testing environment, and we've been running into lots of challenges in getting it stabilized.

As for the issue of your data from the past (site activity, bookmarks, favorites, etc.), we know that's not showing up correctly, but that's a separate issue. Don't worry, we haven't lost any of your data. This is a bug that we'll fix shortly, as soon as we have the Forums stable again.

Thank you for your patience. We've been as frustrated as you have and we're committed to getting the Forums running like clockwork again as soon as possible.
