Web acceleration solutions

By mariamcintosh50 ·
As the web acceleration market is just beginning to be defined these days I'm having trouble finding an inexpensive, easy to install traffic management solution that can be installed one server at a time. So far, Akamba seems to have what I'm looking for - the Velobahn appliance lists for $3,250.00. Is there anything else out there that supports Linux and Solaris in this price range?

Server traffic solutions don't work.

The server based traffic management solutions don't work. It just adds even more burden on top of already over-burdened servers. Akamba is out of business - as are most of the folks who tried this approach.

Try an acceleration appliance - some start as low as under $10K - and can speed up many servers. Plus they don't burden servers, and don't require mucking around with any site code. Redline Networks' Web Accelerator is getting the most inrerest.
