Web content on active desktop

By dons ·
I have an adware type warning that comes up as wallpaper on my desktop in Win 2000. I can change it in my desktop appearance function, but when I do anything after that, it defaults back to the warning. The checkbox on Web Appearance window in Display Properties is not holding. It is an adware type warning, but spyware and adware removal tools can't find it. How do I remove it? Is there a location it resides that I can remove manually?

ouupss ! power even though it is a warning it is a spyware software . and the site it directs you to "tells" you to buy one of those . Buy an official or use a free anti spyware software to remove that warning . in that anti spyware software enable all tools to stop spyware from loading itself, also pay attention to ActiveX , etc. One thing you can do is use the regedit tool to search the registry and clean the thing entry by entry !

Don I had the same / exact problem/spyware . It is a more powerful version of the old sypware . From start button go into regedit but writing it in the run command . ( You already know this !)
in regedit search and find one specific word that keeps poping up in the first spyware menu/screen and delete all instances . But in the task manager try to find which weird task you haven't started is running . An anti spyware software will give a good hint to you . Use spy cleaner gold if you wish !

Run a check with AdAware Personnel Edition and Microsoft Anti-Spyware, both of which are free.

If you downloaded wallpaper from one of the Internet sites featuring "cool free wallpaper," you've malwared for sure.

ok firs of all disable de web content on your active desktop. install adware from and xysoft, xysoft is not free, update de definitions and reboot your pc in safe mode, run the adware software, go to control panel and search for something that you didn install and uninstalled.

afer that go to the regedit: RUN-->regedit
and press F3 in the search box type ELITE an delete anything containing that word but be carefull because theres some printer fonts containing that name.

after that, search for ELITE in yor hard drive the files can look like this ' acbfjelitekfjf ' see the that it contains elite? ok, just be carefull because before you delete something make shure that is not in some of you software that is installed.

i hope it works for you.
