Hi, my question is about publishing a video on my web-site?
I designed a we-site http://frontpage.tripod.com/chucho_001/ , I want to be able to play a video, how do I make it play straight from the server in stead of having to download the entire video first?? or is it even posible?? if it is, can some body give me a little explanation on how to do it??
Thanks!
MDL3

What kind of video? Movie? How long? How big is the file? Will it play automatic when visited your web page? If you are into web designing, there are schools or books that teach you how to built a web page with animation. If you are showing people some video that you worked on, it should be downloaded. Any computer with Macromedia Flash Player, Quicktime or MS Media player can play your video. It should be low in file, written in AVI or Flash format. Any other file will be difficult and takes ages to download. For web, professionals use Flash to make animated Web pages.

Hi thanks for your time!
well the video is 17Mb, is part of a music video, is Mpeg but something I don't quiet understand happened, when I uploaded my web to tripod, it changed the extention of the bob.mpg file to "bob.dat"?????
any way, No it does not play automaticaly you have to click on the link that takes you to the page where the video is supposed to play, but it trys to download the whole thing before starting to play.
I need to figure out a solution like the second suggestion bellow,to have it play in a media player using the player's bufferig to view it faster, how do I configure the web-site to interact with the MPlayer?
what's the best way to change the format from MPEG to AVI?
thanks!
here is the address if you want to see what I mean!
