Which individuals and industries are using 3D graphics – either still images or animations? What are the characteristics of those 3D graphics currently in use by these individuals/industries?

This is part of a group study and the part I was slammed with. I am in Web design. I have not had one class on 3D Animation. I really have done a lot of research. I don’t know really how to answer this one. I know Pixar uses RenderMan. I know many video game companies use Image Metrics and I know many artists love Maya and 3DSMax or Softimage XSI. I still have to answer that question a little better.

Are there any 3D animators out there that can broaden this topic for me and lend some of their knowledge?

Yes I started back on July 14th. This is week 5 and we have a lot due. I am diligently working but stressing the load. LOL
