Is there any way to store/preserve the url of the page you are saving within the saved page. I have trouble sometimes getting to the same page in the net when all I have is stored is the html page.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking how so save the URL of a specific web page?

Have you tried dragging the little icon (picture) just left of the URL (where you type the web addresses into your browser)? Just drag the icon onto the desktop, or onto a folder on the desktop, or onto your LINKS toolbar, or ...

not exactly sure either what you are asking. You can bookmark the page to your favorites or left click in the address bar, right click copy, right click paste the address to where you want it.

If you are trying to save a page from a secure website that requires you to enter thru the front door you will might not be able to go directly to the page in question.

How do you save the web page in a dirctory? I think because you're SAVING it on your computer, it's displaying the HTML directoy from your computer, not from the server it started out on. Try dragging the url icon like I described above. I do that all the time and it saves a shortcut to the orig url...

is there a way to integrate this link and the whole page saved on my disk into one file? I don't want to save only the link. I want the whole page saved on my disk.

In addition to dragging the icon into a folder, you then right click the object in the folder and make sure "Make Available Offline" is checked. When you check this option, it will give you a choice of downloading now or later (via a schedule). Itwill also ask how many pages deep you want to sync (i.e. if you select 2 and pageA has a link to pageB, you'll get them both.)

Then you can manually (or via a schedule, I do it Friday nights), launch the Syncronize Manager.
On XP, it's Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> Syncronize

Essentially your solution works although I would one, prefer, a more non-IExplorer dependent solution, and two, I still don't know how to control where the offline files have gone but it's just a matter of time.

Thanks and BTW, bear with my forgetting to check your solution as early as possible. I kinda forgot til I got this reminder.
