By itask1 ·
Appreciate some guide on how to publish a web created on MS FrontPage 2000 to a web hosting site, example: freeservers.com or tripod.com .
Had try and encounter 'Authors' error ? - any idea what went wrong ? appreciate guidance.
Thanks.

Web publishing from MS FrontPage 2000

I've had this problem on another hosting site. The problem appears to be a question of timing out.
There is an article in the Knowledge base that offers some suggestions.
Practical -- Transfer only a few files at a time
Prob. unpractical -- Get a faster modem or connection.
Take a look at the article; type the following in the address box of Internet Explorer:

First thing, FrontPage server extensions has to be ENABLED at hosting site. Then you need to set authoring under Internet Explorer. Go to TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/SECURITY,INTERNET/ scroll to the bottom of list and under USER LOGON set permission toAUTOMATIC LOGON WITH CURRENT USER AND PASSWORD.
Then, while in FrontPage with your web open, Publish using http method. Be sure full path to hosting server plus your site name is listed. Also, be sure to include a forward slash after the path. Another thing to remember is NOT to include a page or file name within the path, just the site name.
If you need further assistance send an
E-Mail.
