I have a client that wants to run a webserver from his house using his cable connection. Going the cheap route he wants to use his existing linksys wrt54g router. This is the info i passed to him. You can place a switch between your cable modem and router to get the effect you want assign 1 public ip to the router and 1 to the webserver. Run a cable from the webserver straight to the switch bypassing the router. Client says this works but he wants the safety of being behind the linksys wrt54g. I tell him to purchase a second wrt54g and do the same thing modem – swtich – router1/router2 Now client says that only 1 ip will work at a time either or. How can I get both of these ips to work through each linksys router? Is there a step i missed? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
