Web Site using all memory on server

By phrreakk ·
I am currently using FrontPage 2000 to create a website for a company so that people can see their status. It is a very simple site that takes a database(stand alone MDB file) and displays simple information and allows you to click the order numberand be taken to another page where you receive a more detailed list of your status. I also have search fields so that you can look up your status, that part works quick and quite well. My problem is that when I click on the hyperlinked order number, my browser slows down and the server (Windows 2000 Server w/ all patches) locally that is hosting the files gets really bogged down and eventually all the memory gets chewed up. It is all getting used by the process DLLHOST.EXE. I know that I have server extensions 2000 installed because the form page works quite well also. I am using a P4 1.7 at my workstation and a P4 1.5 for the server so I don't think the hardware has anything to do with it. Well I hope someone can help me out, I am really tearing my hair out. Thank you

Web Site using all memory on server

by Delightful Deb In reply to Web Site using all memory ...

Hiya

I've had a little snoop around for you.

Are you using the Package and Deployment Wizard to deploy the exe and
dll to the server?
PDW will sweep in any and all needed dependencies needed for VB. Give it a bash.

Cheers

Debbie

I'm sorry but the exe and dll are part of IIS. Ummm...I do have an update though to the topic. I have found that if I subject the .ASP page to less fields to query the database with then it loads much faster, apparently I gave the system a little overload. I am going to close this problem because it is fixed, now I am still having problems but it is because I am a rookie at code, so I might be posting another question soon. Thank you all who read this question.
