We have a Compaq Presario C700 that normally works. But sometimes it doesn’t and the illuminated ring around the connector from the power brick doesn’t even light up.
Do we simply need to replace the brick or is it something else?
In detail, normally the computer works. But after you disconnect the power cable while the computer is on and plugged in, it refuses to recognize AC power when restored. This refusal often lasts for much of a day until the computer is left unpowered and off for many hours. Battery power works for as long as it can, but our usage is for long periods and we need continuous A/C power.
Any idea what is wrong?
