Weird Printing Problems

By BlackDiamond ·
Hey,

We have a user that is experiencing some weird printing issues. In an attempt to fix it we have done the following?

Removed and reinstalled all printers.
Removed and recreated her Roaming Profile.
Gave her elevated rights.

She is on a WYSE thin client running Terminal services on Windows 2003 server.

The same thing happens on all of her installed printers. Here is the issue.

She can?t print from Adobe Acrobat and has to print each item she prints in MS Word 2000 twice before it will come out once.

Everything else from any other application prints fine.

Will provide other information as needed.

Thanx

have you tried a detect and repair for the Office Suite? What about logging in as someone else and see if it behaves the same for them.

Hey,

Did uninstall and reinstall to make sure this was not the problem.

Is the printer a desktop unit or networked milti-use photocopier? Canon networked printers/copiers have had problems with their print driver. The Microdoft data clogs the queue and self-terminates pretty quickly. You may also want to check out the default MS/ADOBE document properties to be sure it's not READ ONLY or if there are image settings that bloat file.

Hey,

It is a multifunction printer, but even installing a new print driver did not help.

Hey,

w2ktechman -- It is on a Terminal Server and no one else is having problems printing from either of these apps. If she signs into another TS, the same problem appears.

It seems like it is user or printer related at this point.

GDKay2 -- They have different printers including one of the multifunction printers in their office. Should have thought of this before but I wll have her print to a different printer and see if it works.

Thanx

She must have a corrupted user profile on the server. Create a new one for her allowing
ownership of all her old needed files.

I think that the answer above is right there is a corupt User Profile on the Server and it needs replacing and then transfering all the data to the new Profile.

Lets know if that doesn't cure the problem.
