We didn’t have to blow up any one or any installation. We didn’t have to invade or even send in special forces. We didn’t have to threaten and, unless something really bad happens, we’re not going to part of your excuse for “Son of Shock and Awe”.
OK, so they’re not home yet but Ahmadinejad has said that the 15 British naval personnel will be freed as a “gift” to Britain. He’s just said that the Britons would be released immediately and taken to an airport. “They are free after this meeting and can go back to their families”.
He’d have a hard time going back on that one unless, of course, either of our revered leaders start shooting off at the mouth again and give him half an excuse. Please, GWB, your only utterances so far on this have been very counter-productive – keep it firmly closed until they touch down in the UK.

I’m happy that the guys and gal get to go home. Whether we gain or lose some of our reputation internationally, whether you over there think less of us, if I/we care too much about that, how it all pans out from her onwards I await with interest.
