By thurmansavage ·
I have a external Western Digital hard drive. It has 2 500gb Harddrive that are running raid. It is the MY Book world edition with the blue ring. It will not show up on the network anymore and I have 100gb of data I need to get off. Is there anyway I can get my data back. Please help? It will not show up on the network and the blue like keeps blinking all of the time.

Disconnect it from the LAN and connect it directly to a suitable computer and see if that helps.

If it doesn't and you have Important Data that you simply can not afford to loose pack up the enclosure and send it to a Professional Data Recovery Company who can deal with RAID Arrays. This is very specialized work and you need a Specialist to recover any data off the Array.

If you mess with the array you run the risk of permanently loosing all of the Data or at least making it completely Uneconomical to attempt to recover the Data. A Complete Cort Grade Forensic Recovery can cost well in excess of 1.5 million $ US and if you do any damage this can be what you are left with as the only option to recover. Also you need to add the cost of the Enclosure and Internal Drives on top of the price as they get destroyed to recover the Data off them because the Platters have to be removed from the drives to do the recovery.
