I have been going round and round with a developer here that uses MS Visual C++ and Visual Source Safe. He refuses to use antivirus software that runs as a background process saying that his development work sets off the antivirus alarms and increases file access times by as much as 300%.
Anyone have experience in dealing with such matters? Have you found a product that works better in a development environment?
