That are 2 questions. Solid isn’t the same as good. What do you mean to ask. And why the IT field?

Anyway, the best job for you is the job that involves something you like and you’re good in. Things you can be good in or not so good are, for example, sales or project management or helpdesk work or programming or testing or project management or UI design or teaching or being CIO or running a data center,

What of those or others do you like so much that you want to do them for 20 years, and what of those do you think you can actually be so good in that you can get a good job without change of being fired for incompetence?

Pretty much any job that requires a degree is going to be relatively solid. Try looking up jobs that you’re interested in on websites like indeed, and pursue the general requirements towards it.

I read that no job at all, not even the supposedly solid ones, is protected against Elon Musk. But maybe I read the wrong newspapers and visit the wrong sites.

While there are many companies in the IT Business

Not all treat their workers well hence the massive data dump of a Chinese Firm when the Boss bought a new expensive car and the Manager gave himself a massive bonus while peeving off all the workers.

As they where working for the Chinese Government as Interdependent Contractors the work should have been safe and good but as they where being underpaid used and abused someone dumped most of their data onto the WWW and we now know how China is running it’s cracking activities and just how cut thought it actually is.
