I am currently using Symantec BackUp Exec 12d. We have for the hardware portion a DELL 136T that has LTO-3 drives. This Tape robot has been out of warranty for 6 months
I want to upgrade the Tape robot to DELL ML6020 Control Module with LTO-4 Tapes.
Our customer complains that this upgrade is to exspensive. He says tapes are outdated. Now our contract states that we have to have storage offsite for up to 12 months. I do not know of a cheaper better technology than hardrives or DVD’s only sound more exspensive.
I thought DELL could give me a hybrid solution of hardrive storage for one month and then off to LTO-4. But none of those solutions seemed be exactly what I was looking for.
So what do you use that is cheaper and better?
