I imagine the links are old and broken.

Why not simply get the apps direct from the vendors'/developers' sites?

Also, there seems to have been work going on at the TR site, so this may have had a temporary effect on the links.

edit: of course, you could have posted the apparently broken links...

RE: <i>of course, you could have posted the apparently broken links...</i>

The guys here are so smart, that they should figure out OS, browser type, URL and everything themselves.

Optimally, TR questions should work like this:
You just write a question mark. And someone will give you a detailed step-by-step walkthru of what you need to do right now.

An example of this new approach (also known as Web10(beta) is the Russian meditative search function http://zen.yandex.ru/

The SCSI interface for my crystal ball is broken, and I can't find a vendor which still produces them.

That's right

The SCSI Interfaces for those Special Crystal Balls haven't been made for a very long time.
They stopped after the Pollies found out about them and started using them for their own ends and outlawed the making of them. The concerned Pollies naturally with all the excess money that they had bought out the total stocks of them to prevent any others from gaining access to them and finding out how to do things when people where given very strange, basic and Unanswerable questions.

Makes the Pollies look a lot smarter than they possibly could be and life harder for the rest of us.

One of the Greats. Or, as Lovecraftians would have it, "Great Old Ones" (fhtagn!).

The zen function at Yandex reminds me of something....

Yes getting it directly from the vendor is easy but the problem is linking from TechRepublic. The broken links were posted and I never received a response. I have since stopped posting broken links since it appears the post is not being addressed.

As the site is undergoing redevelopment

It is much more likely that the people tasked with addressing reports are way too busy trying to get previous noted problems fixed and your reports have been put into the Wait & See Basket to be addressed when the bigger problems get fixed.

I wouldn't stop reporting things that you find wrong as that may lead to a false sense of security that there are no new issues raising their heads.

I did not see any links in any of your posts at all.

I used "Report a Broken Link" which I thought was the proper way to report this problem.
