What can I do with an Associates in Information Securities / CCNA / CEH

by roman_beats . Updated 19 years, 4 months ago

Hello World.

This first post.

My situation: I will complete my Associates in Information Securities this summer. I currently have my CCNA, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), and a Active Top Secrect Clearance. But I have no IT work related experience.

Question: Can someone with my credentials get an entry level security job, or is a help desk position the place to start? What should I expect to make with my current qualifications? Should I seek an internship to get the real world experience?

My ultimate career goal is perfoming vulnerability / penetration testing on a governement level, as a consultant. Any suggestions on taking steps in that direction? I know furthering my education would be one.

Hope these questions aren’t too vague.

Thanks in advance.
Travis.
