I am 28 years old with a MS degree in computer science and 2 years of experience in software engineering. Recently I found a job in the IT industry. I thought this would just be a temp job for me until I found a SE job later. However, after working for a few month. I start to see the benefit of staying in the IT industry. (ie, job security, being able to see a bigger picture of computer technology movement, potentially higher salary?) Can someone give me some pros and cons for having a career as an IT verses having a career as SE.
