What causes intermittent print line truncation

By LiniBurton ·
I am using an HP 6310 Officejet All-In-One. Several lines on each page have lower case characters which would normally extend below the print line (i.e g and j) cut off. HP was no help except to sell either tech support or a new printer. I have use the option of cleaning the cartrige several times with no resolution. I appreciate any advice.

ink cartridge still possible

Hi,
There are multiple things that can cause this, but if the truncation happens on those letters regardless of their position on the page, the cartridge is still likely to be at fault, even though you've gone through the cleaning process. If the hp software has been installed, there should be an alignment routine or a set of test pages that would show a problem. The only other way to test it is by substitution, preferably with a brand-new, unused cartridge. Hope this helps.
