What causes windows to change views?

By IT Mgr/packer fan ·
I have Windows XP Pro, and since the Service Pack 2 installation, when I have multiple windows open, the windows change at will. I will have one window open, and it automatically is reduced, with another one taking its place. If anyone can help me solve this one, I would appreciate it!

I've seen this happen with spyware. Have you scanned for spyware? There's several free spyware scanners available.

SpyBot Search & Destroy
Lavasoft's AdAware SE

RE: Windows changing focus

This can be an annoying 'feature' of Windows from articles I've read. To correct it, use TweakUI for XP. See the following for an example as well as a link to get TweakUI (link below may be wrapped):

Application Focus

by RShady In reply to What causes windows to ch ...

Win XP Pro with Service Pack 2 seems to lose
application focus. Try going to:
http://www.winguides.com/ and enter application
focus in the advanced search in the upper left
corner of theweb page.
I applied a couple of the registry tweaks and they
seemed to have helped.
