What do you recommend in material for A+

by dfra . Updated 25 years, 4 months ago

I am an older gent and have been self reading and working for various small companies to acquire PC/MAC support skills.

Taken classes on NT4 Server/Wkstn, Novel SysAdmin/AdvSysAdmin, Networking Fundamentals(Novel and MS).

I do not wish to pursue further networking certs.I have an MCP NT wkstn, CNA Novel 4.1, small company sponsored certs for PC UPgrade and repair.

I have chosen this route to gain some experience in OS, application support and Networking with the intent of eventually working for the School District.

Recently I got a position with the School District of teaching Computer repair/upgrade/troublshooting-HW&SW, MS applications use, Web Design(html, some Javascript).

The one condition is I become A+ Certified.

There are so many books to choose from- Sybase, Riders, Dummies, and I hear Cisco has put out a 2 book series also.

With all your “gurus” which would be the best/most appropriate book to accomplish this cert?
TIA,
