An ISO image file is simply a single file to create a CD from. The ISO format makes it easy to download an entire CD from a network.

If you have a bootable floppy, you don't need to create an ISO image first.

What you do need to do, is to make the CD a bootable CD when you burn the files from the floppy onto the CD.

Her is a link to one method:

I recommend copying the files from the floppy onto your hard drive as floppy access speeds may be slower than your burning speed.

We've used this tiny piece of software to create boot disks for Fedora and Gentoo

On reflection, not quite what you are looking for but very useful.

Best of luck.

yes, you will need 3rd party stuff to do this, nero is good. how depends on the version. look in Help. it might be in BackUp or might be in Job Properties. just look around. it is a little obscure but it is in there

Why do you want to boot from a CD?

Plenty of tools available for free, what is it you wish to do and which O/S are you using (e.g. Hitachi offer some good ISO tools to configure and chech HDD performance and reliability), why not run a batch file?

There is plenty of tools available, what is the purpose?

Hi!
You don't describe the purpose you want to use it for, but i use MagicISO for creating a multi-bootable cd, so You'll get a CD with tens of bootable floppy images. Very handy.

My cd burner came bundled with NTI CD-Maker 2000 Plus Edition. To make a bootable CD with itis simple. First make a boot diskette. The diskette should load all the drivers you need - esp. the CD drivers. Then create a data cd. Check the Bootable CD box. When you burn the cd - you will be asked for a bootable diskette. The program will copy and create a boot image before it starts the burning process. When you boot the CD, the contents of the floppy wil be on drive A: the rest of the file will be on the CD drive.
