What is a System Policy

By harvardd ·
What is a System Policy in Windows 2000 Professional? What does it do?

Also, how do you set System Policies in Win 2000 Professional (as a standalone computer). Do you use POLEDIT.EXE?

IS basically registry configuration settings contained within a policy file (*.pol).The configurations settings were written to either the user or computer portion of the registry.
A System Policy can only be dispersed on a domain-wide basis.

You can use your Microsoft Managment Console, mmc.exe to set local policy.
