I am experiencing a strange behaviour with my floppy drive ever since I downloaded MSN Explorer. It seems to be running fine except after for about one hour or so online I hear a lot of hard disk activity and then something is trying to access my floppy drive. I’m usually just running IE only (5.5). At first I thought it was a virus, so I quickly ran up to McAfee site (because I use McAfee Virus scan) and downloaded the latest definition and did a complete scan of my computer. Well that didn’t work. So I uninstall MSN Explorer and reinstall IE 5.5 from the Windows update folder.
The funny thing is, it does that for about 15 seconds then I continue browsing and I don’t hear it again. (It’s that sound when you tried to access a floppy drive and there is no diskette in it) It doesn’t seem like something serious to me, because as an NA guy I try to keep my system in the best shape possible), but I just don’t like some web activity accessing my floppy drive and maybe even my hard drive as well and I don’t know what it is. I also deleted all my temporary internet files and cleared my history in IE. Is there any option I can check/uncheck, or should I remove IE completely and reinstall it?
Any thoughts on this bizarre accessing ofmy floppy drive.
