What is CIR

Installing a Gigabyte K8N-SLI mainboard and in the Bios under Intergrated Peripherals one of the items listed is CIR Port Address and CIR Port IRQ, what is CIR?

CIR (committed information rate) is a service guarantee from a frame relay provider of a certain end-to-end minimum bandwidth.

To put it simply its the minimum speed of your connection that you will receive, there is also a burst rate which is often found along side the CIR rate... this is one of things we had to increase at my work due to the communications between Sydney and Melbourne being slow

Consumer Infra Red- like for media centre remote controls.
I'm yet to find a module to plug into it though.
