About 9 years ago I started working for a small (60 people) non-profit in a social work capacity. One year later, their IT person left. Seeing that I was competent with computer systems, they offered me the job and I accepted though I had no formal training in the IT field. My problem is that now I’m looking into new job opportunities, but I don’t really have a title, so I’m not sure how to adequately describe what I do. Their old IT person was called a QA, though I don’t know why, and I guess technically that’s what I was hired as though no one ever refers to me that way. I do everything IT related with the exception of some of the server related items, which we contract out. I manage our network, design and build all of our databases, do pc maintenance and repairs, train employees on new software, etc. So…what am I really?
