What is the best strategy for dividing a hard disk?

By Kerah ·
When we divide a hard disk for the first time in work, every one of us has his own ideas. One tells that one drive for the system, and other one for all the documents and that?s a good strategy for backing up the data. Other one say that it depends on the kind of the data that the user deals with so if any one interest in that topic lets see what's you opinions about that ?

I favor one drive for OS and programs, and putting as much data as possible on a server. If that isn't an option, then putting the data on a separate drive or partition does make backup, recovery, and migration a lot easier.
