What is the best way of re-building domain using the same domain name?

By sirkejo ·
Please help..We have a domain with the name: kilimo.com, Due to some problems we encountered when migrating to server 2008 we want to re-build this domain with the same domain name kilimo.com, How do we go about this? Another thing is we need to be able to keep our resources mostly users and computers.

Thanks in advance

2 very different types of domains. (Updated)

Your (external) domain name has little to do with your (internal) windows domains.

The domain name is handled via the DNS (Domain name system). You may even use totally external resources to tell users on the internet where to find your web and mail servers.

The (internal) Windows domain is where you define your computers and users, apply group policies etc. If you use DNS structures for internal name resolution, then you'd, typically, have a special internal domain for this (something.local, for instance). It may turn out to be wise to change the internal domain name when rebuilding, as a way to ensure that you replace all old definitions, but that's just small part of what you're up to.

But my main message is that nothing of this has much to do with your external domain name.

So this should not be such a big problem. However, I'm not the right one to tell you how to do it.
