    Hi everyone,

Cybersecurity is more important than ever, but some risks don’t get enough attention. What is one major security threat related to software that you think people tend to ignore?

Look at the USA and that DOGE group. Walking in and busting into systems all over.

How do you propose reigning in such behavior?

Is there a point to this thread? I don’t understand the reason for asking about the topic/theme. Are you tying to promote a product or get help with a college paper?

My answer is that folks clicking on unknown internet links is the biggest risk.

One of the biggest software security risks people often overlook is insufficient access control. Many users and organizations fail to enforce the principle of least privilege (PoLP), granting excessive permissions to users, applications, or services. This oversight increases the risk of data breaches, insider threats, and privilege escalation attacks.

Additionally, weak authentication methods, such as reused or easily guessed passwords, further expose systems to cyber threats. Implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA), regular permission audits, and role-based access controls can significantly reduce security risks. Ignoring these security best practices leaves sensitive data vulnerable to exploitation by attackers.

I would say not using multi-factor authentication when it is available. Simply having it set to an sms message is enough to reliably protect your accounts for the most part.
