What is this file???? mspdb30.dll Help...

By aroe ·
Hello,

I have a PC which returns a Generic Host Processing error - referencing this file (mspdb30.dll) - when the computer is first logged on. It is located in C:\Docs and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows. If i rename/delete the file, the problem disappears, but as soon as I reboot, it comes back (and the error). Can anybody tell me what this file is (what program its associated with) ?

thank you - Adrian

I didn't think it was a malware issue, however under MSCONFIG I see a .dll startup entry that appears to tbe malware related.. Will run anti-spyware utility to see if that resolves issue.

thanks for the info

Bugat malware

by JosephQ7 In reply to reply

This appears to be related to Bugat malware, a relatively new trojan targeting online financial services.

If there's any chance you still have this on your computer:
(1) I would love to get a copy to look at
(2) Consider that computer compromised until you can get it permanently off - this one tends to reinstall itself
