A friend of mine had the the following XIACMTT.TMP item appear on the left hand side of the Netscape window. This appeared between her logging off this morning and logging on this afternoon (dial up connection). The PC is a very old Pentium Pro 200Mhz running Win 95 version A. Anybody got any ideas what XIACMTT.TMP refers to.

What XIACMTT.TMP is actually for, your guess is as good as anyones'. But as with any *.tmp file, they are placed within the system for a specific applications' use, either as a software upgrade folder/file or by spyware. These types of files should disappear after rebooting, if they are placed by a reputable source, or can be deleted by spyware/anti virus programs or manually. *.TMP files contain no useful operating files and should be deleted if for no other reason but to clean up the harddrive and be certain no 'backdoors' are available yo 'malware/spyware'.
