What kind of monitors are compatible with my T450S Thinkpad DS?

    Hello,
I’m looking to purchase monitors for my docking station that’s in the mail. I’m just not sure what kind will be compatible. What specs should I be looking for in a monitor?

My laptop is a T450S Thinkpad. The DS I’m getting has 3 ports, 1 DVI and VGA ports. 5 ports in total but only 3 screens can be used at a time.

    Thanks,
    Bobby

      Anything Really

Honestly, any monitor will be great. It all depends on what you want. Do you want a gaming monitor? They have high refresh rates and usually start at 1080p and go up to 4K.

Or, do you want a standard monitor with a refresh rate of 60 to 75? You can find those in 1080p too, and they are usually cheaper.

I own two ThinkPads, both run Linux OS and I use any monitor that I have available. My T510 is connector to a display port monitor and my E585 connects to my home TV when I get bored.

It is all a matter of preference. Also, what display connectors does the dock have? You will have to keep those in mind when purchasing a monitor.
