What permissions to set for BACKUP OPERA

By fpillow ·
We want our BACKUP OPERATOR group to be able to re-run failed jobs under ARCSERVE IT 6.1, but don't want to give them local admin or domain admin since the server that runs our ARCSERVE software is also our Exchange server.
Any clue as to what permissions I need to set WHERE for this to work?

good clues, but BACKUP OPERATORS can run the jobs OK - they just can't re-run them in ARCSERVE.

Maybe it's an ARCSERVE question, or we need to do something to the permissions in ARCSERVE. But, we don't want them to be able to change the jobs, just re-run them when they fail. Thanks for replying.

Being members of the built-in group Backup Operators should be enough. If you're worried about Exchange in connection with making them admins., make them admins and remove their Exchange permissions in Exchange Administrator program.

Good point, but they may subsequently screw upt the services or files at the NT level. They can run the jobs OK - just can't re-run them when they fail. Suppose it is related to some ARCSERVE permissions, but don't want them changing the jobs either. Just to re-run them.
